What is Blount’s Disease?
Blount’s Disease is a developmental disorder of the tibia in either one or both legs. This rare condition affects under 200,000 people alone in the United States. Blount’s Disease Can affect toddlers, children, and adolescents. The exact cause of Blount’s Disease is unknown. Together we can help raise awareness and support one another through the journey!
Our mission is to support individuals and families affected by Blount’s Disease, to increase awareness, and to work towards research and treatment opportunities to enrich the lives of those with this rare condition.
The Blount’s Disease Strong Foundation provides support to those affected by this rare condition. Those with Blount’s face numerous Doctor visits, lab tests, hospitalization from surgeries, and medical equipment such as braces, walkers, crutches, and wheelchairs. Coping with a diagnosis can be a scary experience for families not to mention the medical trauma it can place on a child. Through your help, the BDSF can help provide resources to families whether it be care packages, medical equipment, or travel costs. Together we can help one family at a time and make an impact.
